I visited graypants design studio in their gorgeous SoDo space to capture a couple of their designers working on 'Cloud' before it was installed at Bellevue Arts Museum. The large hanging light was created with 14,000 ping-pong balls hand stitched onto a metal frame.
New York based fiber artist Nathan Vincent and I created this stop motion animation as an extension of his installation at BAM. The animation simulates the 'play' referenced in the exhibition's title and explicitly demonstrates the dynamic nature of the show.
This video captures what Bellevue Arts Museum was able to accomplish in 2015 with the help of our dedicated arts community. The main speaker featured in the video is Stefano Catalani, BAM's director of Art, Craft, & Design.
Seattle based artist and Seattle Opera set designer Rick Araluce discusses his piece The Terrorist. The work was created for Bellevue Arts Museum third biennial, Knock on Wood.
